Martini Ritual

For those who love martinis, there’s an unspoken understanding that the ritual matters as much as the drink itself. We created our Martini Ritual as an in-room experience for guests who prefer to begin the evening on their own terms, whether settling in or preparing to head out. It brings one of The Fifth’s signature drinks, and one of hospitality’s enduring emblems, into the privacy of the room, offering a slower way to begin.

Available each night and requested through the in-suite tablet, the ritual begins with a knock at the door. A butler enters with a bar cart and, if our guests wish, subtly reorients the space. Curtains are drawn. A low jazz melody settles in.

Only then does the preparation begin. Two martinis are made on the spot, one at a time. The important questions are asked: gin or vodka, shaken or stirred. Everything is prepared exactly as our guests prefer. An assortment of decadent garnishes is presented and chosen before the drinks are finished. The recipe follows the same standards used at our award-winning cocktail bar, The Portrait Bar, carried through with the same precision and care.
The ritual exists to bring indulgence to our guests rather than sending them elsewhere to find it. Everything arrives together, creating a sensory hinge that turns the day behind and opens the night ahead.
