FLÂNEUR HOSPITALITY
Flâneur Hospitality is an innovative initiative founded by accomplished real estate entrepreneur and world traveler Alex Ohebshalom. Every aspect of The Fifth Avenue Hotel, from the design and architecture to the food and art, is inspired by his travels. Flâneur Hospitality aims to create hotels that encourage exploration, fascination and wonder, and deliver a sense of serendipity and delight, while offering a sanctuary of unparalleled comfort, intimacy and inspired service. Alex adheres to Baudelaire’s observation “Boredom is the worst of Miseries!”

THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Hotel is perfectly located for excursions uptown or downtown and minutes away from the irresistible energy of Madison Square Park, the flower district, the art deco beauty
of the Empire State Building, Morgan Museum and Library, and the architectural wonder
that is the Flatiron building. We’re in the
heart of it all.
THE HISTORY
Gracious hospitality and culture have always resided at 250 Fifth Avenue. In the late 1800’s, the address was synonymous with receptions hosted by Mrs. Charlotte Goodridge and the eclectic luxury which filled her home. In the 20th century, subsequent owners brought art exhibitions and financial institutions to the corner. In 2014 Flâneur Hospitality began a thoughtful restoration, adding the Tower section and reviving the romantic spirit of a legendary address.
